How did you start your career ?
It was actually a complete accident! I was the first person out of all of my friends to have a child, I started a blog; Lo and behold, buzzfeed did an article about it, it went viral and my career started.
Most rewarding aspect of your work ?
The most rewarding aspect of my work is having complete freedom and especially as a mother of two, it’s very important for me to spend as much time with them as possible. I think I’m fortunate enough that I don’t have to be whisked off to work at all hours of the day, and I can still spend so much time with my kids.
What inspires your style ?
I would have to say the people around me. The people I meet, the people I come in contact with the most, as well as all the influential women in my life, especially my best friend for example. She definitely inspires my style and the fact that I live in New York, I mean there’s just so much inspiration around you constantly.
What are the three things you can’t live without?
Three things I can’t live without: My cell phone, a great pair of shoes and salt.
Jumpsuit or dress?
Definitely a dress.
What has motherhood taught you?
I think motherhood has taught me patience. Before I had children, I was never ever patient and after children I became a completely different person and now I know how to go with the flow, take some time out, be present and just be patient with myself and others.
What’s your ultimate styling advice?
My ultimate styling advice is definitely : own a great pair of jeans and a great t-shirt. You can always dress it up, dress it down, pair with jewellery, pair with a blazer. It goes well with sneakers, it goes well with heels. A great pair of jeans and a t-shirt will get you very far.
What’s your mantra?
My mantra is close mouth don’t get fed
