‘The Red Carpet Clothes The A-list Actually Pay For’ by The Times

When Rihanna walks into a store, buys — not borrows — a jumpsuit by a little-known brand and wears it to a Grammys after-party, the fashion industry takes notice. This is what happened to Galvan London, a glam but under-the-radar Notting Hill label proving a surprise hit with the A-list.

Galvan was set up in 2014 by four friends — Anna-Christin Haas, Sola Harrison, Katherine Holmgren and Carolyn Hodler — who had noticed a gap in their wardrobes: they wanted evening wear that wasn’t overdone and didn’t cost the earth. “Everything on the evening wear market was tired and so expensive,” says Harrison, the brand’s Creative Director.
